EMR Software Focus less on paperwork with an electronic medical record system

The American Hospital Association found that for every hour spent on patient care, an additional half an hour at least was required to fill out paper. It is wasting time and money. That needs to be changed so that doctors can focus on the relationship with their patients that matters most. The administrative hassles have a direct and negative effect on quality of medical care. “With paper work and increasing financial pressures, providers are being asked to see more and more patients, with less and less time for consultations, even as the flood of new scientific discoveries means clinicians must stay on top of exponentially increasing medical knowledge.”

Medicine is almost absurdly behind the times in its adoption of information technology (IT) in daily practice. By best estimates, only 17% of U.S. physicians have EMR systems. In contrast 90% of the primary care physicians in Sweden were using EMR's by year 2002; in United Kingdom, the figure was nearly 60%. According to the comments made by U.S. Secretary of Health (HHS) Tommy G. Thomson at World Health Care Congress was that it is simply unacceptable that “21 st century treatments are being administered by 18 th century tools like pencils, pads and loose slips of paper. Our medical system is still using manila folders.” Mr. Thomson estimated that incorporation of interoperable national standards for EMR could save $100 billion dollars per year. He said the Bush administration is solidly behind the movement toward a unified EMR platform and HHS is already laying the ground work.

The Reliant Health EMR is a state-of-the-art system that is designed to be easy to use. As a new client, you will immediately recognize an impressive range in innovative enhancements to both speed and security.

Even more elaborate are the upgrades in operational flexibility and seemingly endless report production options. These features are attracting both physicians and hospital attention. Best of all, it's affordable!

Chart Power is the best tool for the doctor, the staff, and the practice. This module utilizes touch screens for a fast, efficient, and easy method of input for patient chart notes.

You no longer have to wade through mounds of papers and charts to access the patient information. You may even attach the patient's electronic photograph to the chart for easy recognition. All pertinent information may be segregated by patient incident, yet the critical information (i.e. allergies, etc.) is shared across all incidents for the patient's chart notes.

The module is released intact with thousands of pre-built forms with medical information in place for operation. No "learning" schemes are required. You do not have to "train" the system,it is already designed in a manner familiar to your day to day requirements. The medical data set "home base" has the sixteen standard body systems as outlined in the HCFA, November, 1997 Documentation Guidelines for Evaluation and Management
